What exactly did Jesus mean when he told us to love others "as ourselves"? Although some people fear self love leads to self centeredness or "me monsters", the truth is that self love frees us from the negative thoughts, the comparisons, and the insecurities that so many people struggle with today. When folks are rooted in the fact that they were made by God, redeemed by God, and are now empowered by God, they should have a deep love for who they are and whose they are. We can love ourselves, because of God's great love for us!
