• Who We Are

We care about one thing more than anything else, Jesus Christ. UCC is a family of individuals that have found hope in Jesus, and simply want as many people as possible to experience that exact same freedom. We believe that God is still in the business of restoration, and our desire is to partner with Him and live to see families, the campus, the city, and the world change.

  • Where We Come From

University Community Church was birthed out of the Restoration movement and started in the fall of 1956. UCC has had a deep passion for the students at New Mexico State since our beginnings, and we still share the same love and passion for college students and young adults today. We are a very diverse group from all ages, brought together by our love for God and for the city of Las Cruces. UCC today is a place where everyone has a seat at the table regardless of personal history, family background, ethnicity, or gender.

  • Where We’re Headed

What's the bottom line? More than ever, UCC is committed to fostering a family that truly and authentically lives out the calling of a disciple and the role of the Church. As we move forward as a church family, inclusion, love, and belonging remain at the center of who we are as followers of Christ. We believe that God has a mission, and His mission has a Church, and as one body of unified believers we all have unique gifts given to us by God to fulfill this mission and advance His Kingdom.

  • What This Means For You

What does this mean for you? Most importantly, you're always welcome at UCC. We're saving a seat for you. Wherever you're at in your faith journey, you'll always be accepted as part of our family. We believe you were created on purpose and for a purpose. We would love to help you discover all that God has created you to be.

Core Values
  • Belong

When we say everyone belongs at UCC, we mean it. Regardless of your experience with church, if you believe in Jesus or not, or even which candidate you voted for. You belong and have a place at UCC.

  • Believe

We want everyone to believe in Jesus. Which means intentionally pursuing people who don’t know the hope of Jesus. We base this on the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19), where Jesus calls us to go and make disciples of all nations. We want our lives to reflect the grace and hope of Jesus through daily interactions and relationships we build with the people in our homes, neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and communities.

  • Become

We believe the best way to live is to live as Jesus did. Which is why our challenge for the new believer to the seasoned saint is to continually become more like Christ. Living as He lived, loving as He loved, and leading as He led.
