A place where kids are seen and welcomed, taught about Jesus, while safe and secure.
Here's what to expect when visiting Kids4Christ for the first time:
Find the area marked for "Kids4Christ". There we will meet your family, check your child into our system, and then one of our volunteers will lead your child to their age-appropriate room.
After service your kid(s) can be picked up in their classroom by their parent or preapproved guardian.
We love kids in Church! Here are all the different programming available for our families with littles:
Weekly Read Aloud
We host a weekly community read aloud at the NMSU Bookstore on campus Wednesdays at 10am. We read several educational books, sing and dance, share a snack, and end with a fun craft. We’d love for you to bring a friend and join us!
The Family Room
University Church offers a Family Room that is available on campus for mothers and fathers with infants. This room is reserved exclusively for parents with infants to enjoy the service in a more private and quiet environment.
The Nursery
Our nursery is a safe space for children up to 2 years old to sleep, play, and do everything in between. This space is open for you to drop your children off at any time during our 9:30am bible class hour or our 10:30am service.
Kids4Christ
For kids ages 2-5th grade, our children’s minister Jaiden Nunley (and a great group of volunteers) facilitate an age appropriate space to encounter God. They are broken up into 3 groups, 2’s & 3’s, 4’s & 5’s, and 1st-5th grade. Prayer, play, scripture, crafts, and story are the means by which we draw our children into deeper exploration of our faith.
Kids are dismissed after service and are released to their preapproved family member or guardian.
All of our volunteers have satisfied a Background Check.
The safety measures we take are as follows:
▪️All children must go through our check-In & check-out process which ensures they are dropped off and picked up by an approved parent or trusted guardian.
▪️All volunteers are background checked and interviewed before allowed to teach/assist in the classrooms.
▪️The entire kids wing is monitored by several trained members of our Safety Team before, during, and after all children’s programming.
▪️Any and all allergies and learning disabilities a child may have are monitored and noted to the teachers.
▪️Safety instruction sheets and first aid kits are located within each classroom.
▪️We ask all parents to keep your child home if they have run a fever in the last 24 hours, has had diarrhea or has vomited in the last 48 hours, has an ongoing cough or sore throat, or any other symptoms that may be contagious to other kids or volunteers.
Thanks for helping us keep our kids safe and healthy.
I have been the Kids4Christ Children’s Minister since July 2023 and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve the children and families here at UCC. I feel very connected to UCC, as this church has provided me with deep, meaningful connections and friendships over the years. I am a Las Cruces native and attended Aggies for Christ throughout my college years until graduating from New Mexico State University in the Spring of 2023. Children's ministry has always been a passion of mine, and my husband Nolan and I are more than excited to continue in this ministry
